At 35mm still very good wide open, excellent at F2.8 and outstanding from F4. Razor sharp in center from F2.8 and outstanding from corner to corner at F4. Excellent sharpness in center from wide open between 18-28mm. I have read a lot of reviews and they seem to agree. Although fixed focal lenses have been superior to zoom lenses in terms of f-number brightness and overall performance, they offer only a fixed angle of view, requiring photographers to carry several with them and change lenses as necessary. The sigma 18-35/1.8 is known for being exceptionally sharp. The fringer adapter is going to take a month to deliver so I have some time but the nice thing is I do have a ef nifty 50, so just feeling the 18-35 kind of rounds out the collection.Īnother selling point is filter size. So far the 18-35 extra stops of light, internal focus, and non focus by wire is what is making me think the sigma is a better option.
